Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the region's specialist resource for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health issues as well as neuropsychiatric disabilities. Together with other actors within the region, we are tasked with providing equitable, needs-based, and cost-effective care for children, young people, and their families. Collaboration with families and other actors such as schools and social services is a major and important part of our work.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a large workplace with approximately 200 employees with various professional backgrounds. We work in interdisciplinary teams and share responsibility for the patients belonging to the team. The patient is naturally at the center of our focus.

We are now looking for a motivated and engaged social worker or psychologist for Clinic 1 – one of our outpatient clinics where we offer specialized care for patients in eastern Värmland. The clinic is responsible for patients from the municipalities of Hammarö, Kristinehamn, Filipstad, and Storfors, as well as parts of Karlstad.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry offers a daily life with great variation, where our interdisciplinary work contributes to daily development.

We are an interdisciplinary work group consisting of a unit manager, team leader, doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and care administrators. We are a positive and cohesive team that takes joint responsibility for the clinic's work and works strategically and consciously to meet existing needs.

Your Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a social worker or psychologist on a fixed-term contract until September 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

As a social worker/psychologist, you are a very important part of the work carried out at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. You will meet children and young people both individually and in teams, dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, and neuropsychiatric disabilities. Additional issues such as self-harm behavior, sleep difficulties, risky substance use, and psychosocial problems also occur.

You will be responsible for mapping needs, creating care plans, habilitation measures, psychoeducation, and parental support. In consultation with or together with other professions, you will also be responsible for assessment and treatment. The majority of the treatment work is carried out independently under supervision. A key part is collaboration with other care partners such as schools and social services.

As a new employee at our clinic, you will receive an individually designed introduction program focused on gradually making you confident in your role.

Your Knowledge and Competencies

We are looking for someone who is educated as a social worker, is a licensed psychologist, or has other education that the employer deems suitable.

It is considered an advantage if you are educated as a health and social care social worker and/or have a basic psychotherapeutic education in CBT, as well as experience working with children, young people, and their relatives.

A Category B driver's license is required as travel may occur during the job.
