Råtorp Schools consists of two school units: Råtorpsskolan for students from preschool class to grade 6, and Södra Råtorps skola for students from preschool class to grade 3. Each school has an after-school center with one section for younger students and one section for older students from grade 2 and upwards.

All individuals, both children and adults, at Råtorp Schools adhere to the STOLT work framework. We are Strong-Safe-Different-Equal-Together. The work aims to create a stronger sense of community within and between the schools. STOLT also forms the basis for the promoting work regarding equal treatment, as well as health-promoting and preventive work regarding student health. We work according to the hypothesis: if you feel good, you learn well – and you feel better. Well-being always comes before knowledge acquisition.

Responsibilities

The role of school counselor includes contributing knowledge about students' psychosocial health and social situation as part of the student health service's preventive and promoting work. The assignment involves adding psychosocial competence as support in the pedagogical work together with teachers, as well as in the overall planning and development of the school's operations. The school counselor also contributes knowledge about risk and protective factors that affect students' health, learning, and development.

A central part of the assignment is the work with the school's value base and equal treatment, where the school counselor has significant responsibility for structure and organization. The role also includes providing supervision and consultation to the school's staff, as well as contributing knowledge about society's support systems and collaborating with other authorities, for example in initiatives related to parental support.

Furthermore, the school counselor conducts various types of conversations, such as support, motivation, and crisis talks, as well as advisory and investigative talks with students and their families based on the school situation. At the principal's request, the school counselor also investigates and assesses individual students' social and psychosocial situations, among other things as a basis for decisions regarding special support and when drawing up action plans.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker (socionom).

We are looking for you who want to make a difference in the lives of children and young people – regardless of whether you have long experience or are at the beginning of your career as a counselor. The most important thing for us is that you have engagement, drive, and a desire to develop in the role.

You are an independent person who takes initiative and enjoys driving your work forward, while being flexible and able to adapt to the needs of students and the operation. You have good collaboration skills and see the value in working together with colleagues in the student health team, while feeling secure in working independently.

With a warm, outgoing, and inclusive approach, you easily create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are curious about people, sensitive to different needs, and treat everyone with respect. You share the school's value base and want to actively contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.

As a counselor with us, you will have the opportunity to work both preventively and promotively, in individual student contacts as well as in groups and at the organizational level. You contribute perspectives and ideas, and we would be happy if you are open to learning new things and developing together with us.

We view experience in working with children and young people positively, but we value your personal suitability and engagement equally highly. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and can document your work in a professional manner.
