About Odengymnasiet
Odengymnasiet is located near the beautiful Vinterviken at Örnsberg subway station. We have approximately 300 students and 25 staff members. Our school is characterized by a friendly and family-like atmosphere where teachers and students work closely together with good team spirit. We offer the Hairdressing and Styling Programme, the Social Sciences Programme, the Technology Programme, and the introductory programmes: Programme-oriented choice, Vocational introduction, and Individual alternative.
About the role
We are now looking for a special needs teacher with a strong commitment to students on a full-time basis. As a special needs teacher, you are an important part of the school's student health team and a support for teachers, students, and guardians. You enjoy meeting students with different backgrounds, goals, and prerequisites, and you have a strong belief in every student's potential to develop. Your work is structured, relational, and solution-oriented. It is important that you have good knowledge of the school's regulatory documents and current research within special needs education. A requirement is that you are a licensed special needs teacher and that you have experience working in upper secondary school. Experience from upper secondary introductory programmes and familiarity with Schoolsoft, Prorenata, and Teams are meritorious.
Responsibilities include:
- Mentor and inspire school staff on pedagogical issues, at both individual and group levels.
- Lead and coordinate the school's work with extra adjustments and special support.
- Support teachers in conducting pedagogical assessments and creating action plans.
- Lead competence development initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of accessible and inclusive learning environments through preventive, promoting, and remedial work.
- Participate in the school's regular workplace meetings and gatherings, as well as parent meetings, development talks, and schedule-breaking activities.
