About the position

The position involves teaching Mathematics and Natural Sciences subjects in grades 7–9. It is an advantage if you have qualifications in several of these subjects, but it may also be relevant if you have qualifications in only one. You will be part of a work team where you are expected to contribute to the team's development by actively participating in conferences and the group's competence development. During the next school year, we will focus on language to make teaching accessible to all students.

Your teaching is based on the requirements in the steering documents regarding planning, implementation, follow-up, and development. In addition to regular teaching and mentorship, you are expected, together with other staff, to focus on and contribute to school development to support all students' right to a safe and developmental school experience. You have a student focus and believe in every student's willingness and ability to develop, varying your teaching according to students' needs.

Examples of tasks:

• Plan, implement, and follow up on your teaching.
• Use methods and working approaches that lead to student development and the best possible goal achievement.
• Exercise mentorship/perform homeroom teacher duties.
• Support students' social development.
• Create a good environment for learning.
• Document in the existing operational systems.

About the workplace

Odenskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F–9) located in Odensbacken. Approximately 300 students currently study at the school, from preschool class to grade 9. Odensbacken is located approximately 25 km from Örebro with good bus connections.

Within the Preschool and Primary School Administration, approximately 4,530 employees work. We meet young people from Örebro from their first day in preschool to their last day in primary school.

Qualifications

You take responsibility for your tasks and can communicate clearly. It is important that you collaborate and create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Furthermore, you are a pedagogical leader in the classroom and, through your engagement, contribute to the student's knowledge-based and social development.

Requirements:

• Teacher certification with eligibility to teach Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics for grades 7–9, or alternatively, a degree that qualifies for certification.

Meritorious:

• Experience working as a Swedish language teacher.
• Knowledge of language- and knowledge-developing working methods.

Scope and start date

Employment type: Permanent position

Full-time: 100%

Start date: August 12, 2026, or by agreement

The position will be filled subject to necessary decisions being made.
