Bregårdsskolan is centrally located with good transport connections to both Örebro and Karlstad. With approximately 380 students and dedicated staff, we work together to create a learning environment where every student feels seen, heard, and challenged. High quality in teaching and long-term development work are the school's focus, and you are expected to participate actively in this. As an additional part of our development work, we also collaborate with Örebro University in a project focused on practice-oriented research.

Job Responsibilities

You will be part of a work team linked to our special education group and teach English for grades 7-9. The position also includes mentorship duties.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in the subjects you are responsible for
  • Analyzing teaching and results
  • Exercising mentorship/class teacher duties
  • Parental contact
  • Contributing to school development
  • Collaboration with the student health team, school management, and external partners
  • School-wide values-based work
  • Teamwork
  • Working and documenting in the operational systems in use

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with eligibility to teach English for grades 7-9, as well as experience and competence regarding work with students in need of special support.

You are a confident and clear leader with strong subject knowledge and an ability to create and maintain good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You value and contribute to good collaboration by having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach. You are structured and have the ability to plan, organize, and analyze students' learning as well as your teaching structure in an effective way that leads to desired results.

To contribute to the school's continued digital development, you are expected to possess good IT skills and be able to easily adapt to digital systems. Furthermore, you must master the Swedish language to such an extent that you can communicate with students, colleagues, and guardians, and that you can document in writing what the operation requires.

Experience in working with language-developing methods or Swedish as a second language is meritorious.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, Start Date: 2026-08-12, End Date: 2027-07-16.

Background Check

To work in preschools, schools, and youth/recreational activities, you must, according to the Act on Background Checks, provide an extract from the police's criminal record register. You must request the extract yourself from the Swedish Police Authority using the form "Extract from the Criminal Record Register" available in the form archive on the police website.

Probationary employment may occur.
