About Us

The Child and Adolescent Medicine Clinic (BUM) offers specialist care for children and adolescents up to the age of 18 who do not require hospitalization. We have a catchment area of approximately 33,000 children in Borås, Bollebygd, Ulricehamn, and Tranemo, and we collaborate closely across unit boundaries to provide cohesive and secure care.

The clinic is centrally located in Borås and is staffed by experienced pediatricians, pediatric nurses, child psychologists, pediatric dietitians, and medical secretaries who work together in teams with the best interests of the children and their families in focus. As needed, we also collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to offer as comprehensive support as possible.

Here, we investigate and treat conditions such as asthma and allergies, gastrointestinal diseases, obesity, epilepsy, neurological conditions, growth and developmental deviations, and various syndromes. We also offer emergency appointments for children up to three months of age, for example, in cases of acute respiratory distress, infections, or failure to thrive.

About the Role

As a specialist physician, you will have a varied and stimulating job in close collaboration with colleagues and other professions, where teamwork is central. We primarily receive referrals from health centers, Child Health Centers (BVC), school health services, and the emergency department, but increasingly also from the hospital's specialist clinics as part of the transition to primary care. You will collaborate with other physicians within Regionhälsan in a larger network.

About You

We are looking for you who are a specialist in child and adolescent medicine and who want to continue developing and maintaining broad general pediatric competence. You are a person who contributes to a good work environment and good collaboration within the team and who sees the bigger picture regarding the children and their families.

There is room for dialogue if you wish to combine the position with us with work at another unit. We would appreciate it if you had part of your working hours in Skene. The position is scheduled during daytime hours, Monday to Friday.
