We are currently looking for two social secretaries; one social secretary for the youth unit and one for the child and youth unit.

The Child and Youth area is part of the Social Department at the Södermalm District Administration. We consist of three investigation units with different age focuses (children, youth, and 0-20 years), family law, as well as family care and contact activities. The Child and Youth area is led by a district manager and four unit managers.

The unit has two coordinators who provide support in operational matters and introduction for new employees. There is also a school coordinator and a SIP coordinator at the unit. In total, the unit consists of approximately 60 employees. We are located in fresh premises in Hammarby Sjöstad.

Your role

As a social secretary in the investigation group, you and your colleagues conduct investigations and follow up on approved measures regarding families with young people (13-20 years) or with both children and young people (0-20 years). Your work is based on current legislation, guidelines, and knowledge support. The work is carried out from a systemic perspective with a focus on resources, strengths, and risks present in the family and network. Your work is very significant and multifaceted as you, in dialogue with families and networks, work to find the best solution for the child.

You have continuous support from your unit manager and colleagues in your work. You work in pairs in the investigations and help each other between groups. You participate regularly in method support and external supervision. All who start at the unit receive an individual introduction plan.

Your competence and experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• A degree in Social Work (Social Work degree)
• Current professional experience as a social secretary with authority exercise or treatment with children and young people
• Understanding and good knowledge of current legislation in relevant areas
• Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

We would like you to have several years of professional experience. We assume that you work in a structured and responsible manner by planning and prioritizing your work based on set goals and timelines. At the same time, you have the ability to adapt to changed circumstances and to work with great variation and switch between different tasks. We are looking for you who see the challenge in being able to drive complex cases and share knowledge/experiences with your colleagues.

You are expected to contribute by taking on extra assignments such as, for example, child rights ombudsman, violence in close relationships, or contact person for various activities, as well as contributing to the area's development work.

It is an advantage if you have training in Signs of Safety, training in assessment instruments such as EARL, SAVRY, and ADAD.
