School Social Worker for Stenungsund's School Social Team
Stenungsund, a good society with confidence in the future and development with humans and nature at the center.
Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 28,030 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential environments near the sea, and good transport links. The municipality has a well-developed cultural and association life, as well as good conditions for outdoor activities and recreation. Holistic approach, openness, participation, and transparency are the municipality's guiding principles.
The municipality's vision is to reach 35,000 inhabitants by 2035. Stenungsund Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region Municipal Association, which serves as a forum for cooperation and experience exchange, as well as in several other inter-municipal collaborations.
In Stenungsund, we invest in early interventions, and we are in an exciting development phase shaping the future social services into a more accessible, preventive, and knowledge-based service. Since autumn 2024, the Education Sector and the Social Services Sector have had a joint school social team with the goal of giving our children and young people increased opportunities to succeed in primary school. Stenungsund's school social team works primarily at an early stage with promoting and preventive measures – we have a goal-oriented working method where new forms and methods are tested. The work varies based on current needs and is in constant development.
From the autumn term of 2026, the school social team will be expanded to consist of 9 employees. The work is carried out based on smaller teams distributed across respective school areas; each school area's team consists of 3 employees (one school social worker, one social pedagogue, and one teacher). Your workplace will primarily be in the primary schools in Stenungsund Municipality and the school area you will work in; the team also has a shared workplace in central Stenungsund. Linked to the team are a strategic steering group and an executive steering group. The team is led by the Head of Student Health from each respective school area and the Unit Manager for the Family Support Unit. The school social team's quality and development work takes place in close collaboration with social services, primary schools, and student health.
As a school social worker, you belong to the Family Support Unit within Individual and Family Care. The unit consists of Family Therapists, Parent Counselors, Crime Preventers for Children and Young People, the Coordinator for the Family Center, and STO Family Counseling.
You will meet a workplace with high competence, good ambitions, and great scope for action. We offer independent and developing work with collegial support, supervision, and opportunities for professional development.
