About Us:

The Islamic Bosniak Congregation Gothenburg is a multicultural congregation that emphasizes working across community boundaries, promoting cooperation, building relationships, and fostering community through what unites us. Encounters with different languages and cultures, as well as the efforts of volunteer staff, are significant in our operations.

About the Position: We are looking for an Imam to work within our congregation. The position involves religious duties, teaching, and participation in the congregation's ongoing activities. The role also includes collaboration with the board and members regarding the development of the organization, as well as cooperation with other actors in the municipality and other congregations.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities include, among other things:

• Leading and preparing Friday prayers
• Daily prayers
• Holiday prayers
• Teaching children and youth
• Participating in the planning and execution of activities and other initiatives within the congregation
• Conducting weddings
• Conducting funeral ceremonies

Qualifications

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who:

• Is an educated Imam with a university education in Islam with a theological focus, or has equivalent documented competence
• Has good teamwork skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to meet people in various life situations in a respectful and attentive manner
• Has very good knowledge of Bosnian
• Has good knowledge of English
• Has good knowledge of Arabic
• Is confident in your professional role, has good pedagogical skills, and can work both independently and collaboratively
• Is flexible and can adapt work to the needs of the organization

Advantageous:

• Valid driver's license (Category B)
• Swedish language skills
