About the Job
Do you want to contribute to positive change for those who need it most? Housing First is an evidence-based working method focused on providing a path to housing as the primary initial intervention. At our organization, this method is the foundation of everything we do – a way of working built on respect, trust, and the individual's own goals.
As a Field Secretary at Housing First, you work both as a support provider and in coordinating interventions based on the RACT methodology. This means you offer practical and social support to participants while coordinating care and support efforts together with other actors such as social services, healthcare, and other community initiatives.
The work requires great flexibility and the ability to take personal responsibility, as you independently drive your processes forward and adapt support based on each participant's individual needs and goals. You plan, implement, and follow up on interventions in a structured manner, while maintaining space for creativity and relationship-building meetings.
At Housing First, we believe that every individual has the potential to change their life, and we work together with our participants to help them achieve their self-expressed goals. The target group includes people with long-term homelessness and complex social issues, often in connection with substance abuse and mental health problems. Our work is built on strong relationships and individualized support. Inspiring and strengthening motivation for change is a cornerstone of our work.
You work daytime hours and have the opportunity for flexibility when the operations allow.
Home visits are an important part of our work, but how support is shaped varies depending on the unique needs of our participants. At our organization, the work is creative and created together with participants. This includes support in contacting authorities, healthcare, and a significant portion of motivational and relationship-building activities.
Housing First is built on clear principles, and we are now looking for an individual with an interest in the method and its values. We believe you share our passion for Housing First and its purpose, as well as belief in the approach. You will be based at our office in Gamlestaden and belong to a work group of 16 colleagues characterized by a positive spirit and helpfulness. We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
About You
The basic requirement for the position is that you are educated as a social worker, or alternatively have at least a three-year higher education/university degree that the employer assesses as equivalent. You should also have an interest in working with adults with psychosocial issues such as addiction and mental illness, as well as a valid driver's license (Category B).
It is meritorious if you have basic knowledge of the Housing First model and previous experience working with people in social vulnerability. It is also meritorious if you have experience with authority exercises within social work and a good understanding of social services' processes, working methods, and regulations. Experience of collaboration between different authorities and community actors is also seen as an advantage.
You are friendly and helpful to other people even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure the client/user receives the support they need.
You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different prerequisites. You adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement.
You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible.
You have the courage and ability to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment without being dependent on others. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward.
You can change how you work when things change. You can quickly change your perspective and attitude and see opportunities in changes.
