Folkets Hus Hammarkullen is looking for an Activity Coordinator with a focus on resident-driven meeting places and youth, 50% position
Join us in developing our work!
Hammarkullen is a district in Gothenburg with a rich cultural life, strong community spirit, and solidarity. At the same time, the area is characterized by growing child poverty and economic disparities, which require greater collaboration between the non-profit sector, engaged citizens, the public sector, and business life to create equal conditions and increased participation in society. Folkets Hus Hammarkullen plays an important role in this work and is currently in the midst of an exciting process regarding the expansion of its resident-driven and open meeting place activities, focusing on democracy, community, innovation, culture, and education.
We are now looking for a 50% employee who can help develop our work.
The Activity Coordinator has specific responsibility for developing, implementing, and following up on activities and events at Folkets Hus Hammarkullen, with a focus on young people and residents in the area. Furthermore, you will maintain contact with local associations, municipal operations, and residents, and will be driving the communication work.
You will be part of a small team with great opportunities to influence your work.
Your qualities
You are outgoing, creative, and structured, with strong social and intercultural competence. You see opportunities and thrive on taking on new challenges. You have the ability to create enthusiasm that inspires others to grow.
To succeed in your role, you must be accustomed to organizing activities that contribute to society and other people, and have a strong interest in the world around you. You have good social competence, analytical skills, and enjoy working with people. We also believe that you have a rich network within culture and civil society in Gothenburg, preferably with a focus on the northeast. You share Folkets Hus Hammarkullen's value base, which rests on the equal value of all people and means that all people, regardless of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or ethnic origin, should see the house as an important meeting place that promotes their interests, freedom, and personal development. More information can be found at www.folketshushammarkullen.se (http://www.folketshushammarkullen.se).
Job Responsibilities
You will work closely with the operations manager and other staff, but you need to be able to work independently on the activities and events that Folkets Hus Hammarkullen has undertaken. The work also involves planning and follow-up of activities as well as dissemination and communication. You report directly to the Operations Director.
Employment Conditions
The position is a fixed-term employment for 11 months, starting in August 2026 or as agreed. The position is 50%, with unregulated and goal-oriented working hours. The work is scheduled on both weekdays and weekends, both during the day and in the evening. Salary and employment conditions according to collective agreement with the Swedish Union for Shop and Office Employees (Handelsanställdas förbund).
Last day for applications: 2026-07-01
