The Property and Facility Management department is facing many exciting challenges and is looking for you who want to contribute to making Piteå the best place to live in Sweden. The department has 350 employees and is responsible for the management and operation of the municipality's properties as well as the municipality's combined catering and cleaning operations.

The Property Division ensures strategic premises supply, planning, coordination, and changes in the property portfolio. In total, 320,000 m² are managed, distributed across 144 objects, the majority of which are used by the municipality's core operations. The responsibilities also include daily operations, maintenance, as well as the planning and implementation of maintenance and investments in the municipality's properties. The division handles leasing and contract management for premises, housing, and parking. The division has 85 employees.

The Project & Technology Unit consists of a unit manager, five project managers, and four technology managers. The group has broad competence and long experience in driving projects and handling technical issues. The employees are accustomed to working closely together and collaborating effectively both internally and with other units, which contributes to holistic solutions and smooth execution in various assignments.

Job Responsibilities

As a project manager here, you will have a central role in the implementation of the municipality's construction projects and are responsible for the entire process from early stages to completion and handover to management. The role involves leading and driving projects within renovation, extension, and new construction, as well as maintenance and investment projects. You are responsible for planning, budgeting, and monitoring the projects' economy, schedule, and quality, as well as procuring and managing consultants and contractors according to current regulations. Furthermore, you coordinate the various actors in the projects and ensure progress, work with calculations, risk assessments, and forecasts, and ensure that the projects are carried out in accordance with laws, requirements, and internal processes. You also contribute to the development of working methods and routines within project management. The role involves many contact surfaces, both internally within the municipality and externally with contractors, consultants, and operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant technical education in land, construction, electricity, plumbing, or equivalent experience assessed as equivalent. You should have at least one year of experience in project management within the construction and property industry and are accustomed to driving tenders in a business-like manner. You should have good knowledge of contract law, experience with calculations, budget responsibility, and economic follow-up, as well as experience with procurement, preferably according to LOU (the Swedish Public Procurement Act). You have good IT skills and hold a B driving license.

To succeed in the role, you are structured, self-initiative, and have good planning skills. You are communicative and have an easy time building trusting relationships, while also having a business-like approach and good financial awareness. You work solution-oriented, are flexible, and have the ability to drive projects forward as well as engage and motivate others.
