We are now looking for a Business Economist for the economic function at Jokkmokk Municipality. The economic function is a central support unit working closely with operations and management. Here you will have the opportunity to influence, develop, and contribute to a long-term sustainable economy. The position allows for extensive remote work, with regular physical presence in Jokkmokk equivalent to approximately one week per month.

Responsibilities

As a Business Economist, you will provide qualified economic support to the municipality's operations and contribute to efficient economic management. The role is broad and varied, involving both strategic analysis work and operational tasks. You will work closely with department and functional managers, serving as an important partner in their daily work.

Main duties include:

• Budgeting, follow-up, and analysis: Prepare budget proposals, participate in the budget process, conduct follow-ups and forecasts, and analyze economic results and deviations.
• Support to operations: Act as a sounding board for managers on economic matters, explain economic relationships and results in a pedagogical manner, contribute to better decision-making foundations, and present economic information at committee meetings.
• Participation in development and improvement: Conduct economic analyses and investigations, participate in municipality-wide development work, and contribute to the development of control, processes, and working methods.
• Operational economic work: Ongoing reporting, annual accounting work, and other economic administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications

You have:

• A degree in economics or equivalent experience considered comparable.
• Experience working with budgeting, follow-up, analysis, and economic management.
• Good knowledge of economic systems and the Office package.
• Strong communication skills and good proficiency in Swedish (both spoken and written).

It is an advantage if you have experience from municipal operations, the price tag model, or digitalization/automation of economic processes.

To succeed in this role, you are structured and analytical, with the ability to create order and clarity in complex situations. You are communicative, pedagogical, and team-oriented, with a clear sense of personal responsibility and drive. Since the work is largely remote, you must be self-motivated and comfortable planning and driving your work forward independently. Personal qualities will be given great weight.

Employment Terms

• Type of employment: Permanent position.
• Working hours: The position allows for extensive remote work.
• Salary: The salary range is between 36,000 – 44,000 SEK/month. We apply individual salary setting based on your experience and competence.
