The Sami Education Administration is a government agency with its office, including school director, controllers, HR, and case handlers, located in Jåhkåmåhkke.

The Sami School is an educational form equivalent to the compulsory school, offering education from pre-school class to year 6. The starting point for teaching is Sami culture and language according to the curriculum for the Sami School. The Sami Education Administration also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The agency has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sami Education Administration provides distance education in Sami languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sami education.

DUTIES

Do you want to work at a Sami workplace?

We are looking for you who are educated as an economist, have relevant work experience, and want to work at a Sami government agency.

Your main tasks include financial management, ongoing bookkeeping, budget monitoring, as well as handling payments, taxes, VAT, supplier accounts, and annual accounts.

Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, running, and analyzing budgets and financial outcomes. The work includes forecasts, key figures, balance sheets, and monthly analyses of the organization's results.

You work both independently and in close collaboration with the agency's management, where you serve as a support in clarifying the connections between operations, personnel, and finance. An important part of the role is to communicate these connections in a pedagogical and easy-to-understand manner, so that finance becomes an effective tool for operational management.

You also participate in improvement and development work related to strategic planning and monitoring, as well as internal controls with a focus on further developing monthly monitoring for the management group.

In the role, you are expected to independently plan, implement, develop, and follow up on operations within financial processes.

At the Sami Education Administration, we have a remote work agreement that makes it possible to work from home some days a week.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a university-level education in economics.

Work Experience

We prefer that you have several years of experience in qualified economic work. You have practical experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial monitoring, preferably from a government agency.

You have good analytical skills and can, from a holistic perspective, come up with well-founded solutions. You are a team player who contributes to a positive development climate and, together with your colleagues, creates a work environment characterized by cooperation and continuous improvement.

As an employee at a Sami workplace, you are expected to have good knowledge of Sami culture and society. Knowledge of Sami languages is an advantage.

To succeed in the role of controller, you are flexible, meticulous, and quality-conscious. You have good structure in your work and can handle and prioritize several parallel tasks without losing sight of the big picture. The role also requires good social competence and documented good cooperation skills. You express yourself well both orally and in writing. We are a small office, which means that cooperation between functions is an important part of the work.

Good computer skills are a requirement. Experience with Agresso and Visma Proceedo is an advantage.

We are looking for you who have documented good cooperation skills. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.

The Sami Education Administration applies individual salary setting.
