The Role of Counselor
In this position, you will partially work with the Pediatric Clinic at Ryhov County Hospital. Here, there is a well-functioning and established collaboration where counseling competence is a natural and important part of the care planning for the child and family.
Work within children's and young people's health is varied and can cover several different areas, such as neonatal care, neurology, cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, chronic pain, and healthcare anxiety. You will meet children, young people, and their relatives at various stages and provide psychosocial support, advice, and guidance based on their needs.
Another part of the role consists of psychosocial work with adult patients within surgical care. Here, you meet individuals with various somatic conditions and may be involved throughout the entire disease trajectory, from onset and acute situations to follow-up later on. The work often takes place in close collaboration with other professions and activities that are significant for the patient's daily life, treatment, and well-being.
As a counselor, you are responsible for the psychosocial competence within the team and become a key partner both on wards and in clinics. A large part of the work involves crisis and support conversations, both in outpatient and inpatient care. The role also includes contact and collaboration with external actors, such as patient associations, social services, infectious disease control, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and the Swedish Migration Agency.
We use digital solutions and offer digital patient meetings, an area we continue to develop. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you have an interest in digital working methods and treatment forms.
The position we offer is a permanent full-time employment, starting as agreed. Working hours are scheduled during daytime, Monday to Friday.
Your Future Workplace
Rehabilitation Center is a clinic that delivers specialized rehabilitation across the entire county. The operations are primarily centered at Ryhov County Hospital in Jönköping, Högland Hospital in Eksjö, and Värnamo Hospital, with the clinic having approximately 300 employees in total.
Your Profile
We are looking for you who have a degree in Social Work. We prefer that you are a licensed healthcare counselor. Previous experience in counseling, preferably within healthcare, is desirable.
