Jönköping Municipality is a major employer with hundreds of different professional roles. We are growing in tandem with the municipality's development, accommodating more residents, housing, and services. We are always on the lookout for new skills – employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and call home.
Do you have previous work experience with the target group of people with mental disabilities? We are now looking for 2 support assistants for a group home and a service apartment!
Your new job
As a support assistant, you work together with other staff to provide support to citizens living in our group homes or service apartments. The goal is to help each individual live as independently as possible based on their own conditions, needs, and wishes.
The work involves health-promoting and motivating interventions, home support, assistance with personal care needs, and support in social and individually adapted leisure activities.
You work from a pedagogical approach and follow the citizen's implementation plan, which you also update as needed. The role includes social documentation and casework, where you are responsible for planning and collaboration regarding one or more citizens. You have regular contact with citizens, relatives, colleagues, managers, and other professionals. In some cases, medication management is also included.
Your qualifications
For the title of support assistant, one of the following educations is required:
- Completed upper secondary school program in Child and Youth with a focus on social/pedagogical work.
- Completed upper secondary school program in Care and Nursing/Assistant Nurse with specialization in the disability/psychiatry area.
- Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent.
For the positions, it is meritorious if you have previously worked with the target group of people with mental disabilities and used digital work tools. Methods used in the work include MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL, and a low-affective approach to interaction. The work requires physical mobility as unpredictable situations may arise that must be resolved in a manner adapted to the situation.
You must also master Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension, as there is contact with citizens, relatives, documentation, and reading of information relevant to the work.
At Sörbo Group Home, we preferably see that you have a B-driver's license for a manual transmission.
Personal skills and competencies
You have a genuine interest in people and service and are driven by motivating and developing others. Your personal maturity allows you to easily understand others' situations. You are flexible, see opportunities in changes, and adapt quickly. You work independently by taking responsibility and structuring your tasks, but you also thrive in collaboration since the role involves many contacts.
You build relationships through attentiveness and good communication. In meetings with citizens, you are clear, pedagogical, and adaptable, and you handle difficult situations professionally with a strong belief in people's ability to develop.
In the recruitment process, we place great emphasis on your personal suitability for the work!
We offer you
A meaningful job where you have the opportunity to make a difference and influence how the daily lives of our citizens look. Of course, as an employee of Jönköping Municipality, you benefit from our general perks.
