Alma Assistans seeks dedicated personal assistant for a man with MS in Värnamo

Alma Assistans is the committed company that creates personal assistance in collaboration with the client. We work closely with the client and know that good relationships are the key to a well-functioning assistance service. We operate throughout Sweden with our headquarters in Uppsala and local offices in Gävle, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsingborg, Jönköping, and Växjö.

We are now looking for an engaged and responsible personal assistant for a man living with MS who needs support in his daily life. Here you will find meaningful, varied, and active work where you make a big difference in another person's life.

The position is a hourly-based employment. Training/introduction will take place according to agreement. The client lives 5-6 km outside Värnamo.

About the role

As a personal assistant, you work closely with the client and are an important support in both daily life and activities. Your work contributes to the client being able to live an active life and continue with both work and leisure interests. The client lives 5-6 km outside Värnamo.

You accompany the client to his work during the days and support him in various moments of daily life. A driver's license is required as you drive the client's car. We prefer that you live in Värnamo Municipality.

Tasks

The tasks may include, among other things:

Stretching and physical training
Personal hygiene and care
Mobility with assistive devices
Physical assistance
Food and meal support
Accompanying to work and activities

Important prerequisites

The client trains regularly at a rehabilitation pool, where a training program is carried out in the pool. The water is deep, and therefore the assistant working must be over 180 cm tall to be able to work safely in the water.

The client is Christian and attends church regularly, so you as an assistant need to be comfortable accompanying him to church visits.

There is a cat in the home, so you cannot be allergic to fur animals.

Working hours

The working hours are scheduled as follows:

Weekdays: 05:30 – 17:30
Saturday: 07:30 – 18:30
Sunday: 07:30 – 14:00

The schedule is planned in consultation.

Who we are looking for

As a personal assistant for this client, you need to be able to juggle many balls while being structured, meticulous, and adaptable in your professional role. Communication is key to a functioning collaboration between client and assistant. You are attentive and receptive, and show respect for both the client's family life and professional life.

In the role, you function as the client's arms and legs, so it is important that you enjoy physical work. Personal care, physical training, and mobility are common daily occurrences. We therefore appreciate that you have good physical fitness.
