The Department of Law is one of the largest departments at Stockholm University, with approximately 150 employees and 5,500 students per academic year. Over 100 teachers are employed full-time to teach and conduct the research upon which the education is based. The department hosts around forty professors with various legal specializations, creating a dynamic environment characterized by top-tier research and a strong international profile.

The department houses several research institutes and center formations. We are now looking for a research assistant for the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law (SCCL).

Responsibilities

The Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law (SCCL) organizes seminars and conferences where the research assistants handle administrative tasks, maintain contact with research departments, take minutes at board and certain departmental meetings, administer publishing activities, assist in research, and manage certain services within the Centre's premises. The role involves frequent contact with qualified lawyers at law firms, courts, and companies. The research assistants work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

The applicant must be admitted to undergraduate or advanced level studies. Studies on the Law Programme are highly meritorious. It is also meritorious to have knowledge of and interest in areas such as property law, capital markets law, and corporate law, as well as experience in administrative work.

The workload is periodically high, making organizational skills, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset valuable traits for the position. Additionally, computer proficiency and good command of English are required.

About the Position

The position is for 30% of full-time hours and is fixed-term for 6, 9, or 12 months, depending on agreement. Start date: September 1st or as agreed.
