At the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic, maxillofacial surgeons, specialty dentists and assistant dentists, dental nurses and operating dental nurses, as well as dental radiologists with associated specialty positions and image technicians work here. There is also a bite physiologist with specialty training, care administrators, assistant nurses, and clinic administrator.

Our mission is to offer residents of Värmland specialist dental care within maxillofacial surgery, dental radiology, and bite physiology.

At our Maxillofacial Surgery outpatient clinic at the Central Hospital, treatments in the jaw area are performed, including both planned procedures and emergency care after accidents. We perform treatments in the outpatient rooms, operating theater, and the operating department under anesthesia. On Ward 16 (Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic), we also have inpatients post-operatively or undergoing treatment for various infection conditions related to dental health. We have our own sterile technical function as well as a reception and a team of care administrators.

We also share our premises with the Specialist Clinic for Orofacial Medicine, with which we have close cooperation.

Your responsibilities

The responsibilities include administering sedation prior to planned procedures, monitoring before and after procedures, sample collection, and preparations for admission to inpatient care. The work also involves medication administration and monitoring of vital signs and general condition of emergency patients. In addition, the role includes coordinating responsibility for the daily patient flow between our clinics.

Usual tasks such as handling delivered goods, answering incoming calls, orders, and cleaning are also included in the job description. In the long term, there is an opportunity to further develop in several of the areas of responsibility and tasks we have at the clinic.

The position may also involve conducting training initiatives for the clinic's employees as well as actively participating in our development work.

Your skills and competencies

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and want to create something new with us! It is a requirement to have several years of work experience as a registered nurse.

You need to have a flexible attitude with a accommodating approach where you are willing to help out where needed with the tasks required at the moment. For us, it is important that you are proactive and work independently, but also prefer to collaborate in a team.

You need to be comfortable conducting training initiatives for both large and small groups upon request. You are welcome to have previous experience in leading areas of responsibility and/or development projects, but this is not a requirement.

It is an advantage if you have work experience from emergency care and/or surgical specialties, particularly from Ear, Nose, and Throat care. Previous work experience and education within dentistry is also an advantage.
