We are looking for dedicated teaching assistants for our primary school, adapted primary school, and adapted upper secondary school – with a focus on the profiles Conductive Pedagogy and Communication.

Innovitaskolan Joriel, located in the beautiful Långbro Park in Fruängen, is a special school (Primary School and Adapted Primary School F-9 as well as Adapted Upper Secondary School individual program 1-4) which also includes after-school activities and short-term supervision for students with various types of physical and, in many cases, intellectual disabilities. The school focuses on communication and conductive pedagogy.

Your role: More than just support

Your work is based on the student's right to an equal education, regardless of school form. We operate within primary school, adapted primary school, and adapted upper secondary school. Here we work with the profiles Conductive Pedagogy (CP) and Communication, which means you become an active part of the student's motor and communicative development.

Your main areas of responsibility:

• Pedagogical responsibility: You support learning throughout the school day. You prepare lessons with educators, adapt materials according to the student's needs, and can, if necessary, help lead the group based on pre-made plans.
• Communication & Motor Skills: You ensure that the student's communication aids are always present and actively used. Within the CP profile, you work consciously to ensure that motor prerequisites are never a hindrance to learning or participation.
• Physically active care: The role involves physically demanding tasks throughout the day, including support with transfers, meal situations, personal care, and toilet visits. You are also responsible for ensuring that all the student's aids (e.g., work chairs/walking frames, communication computers) are clean and optimally adjusted.

Logistics and collaboration

Our operations are built on strong teamwork. The morning's logistics determine where the needs are greatest, which requires you to be flexible and do only what is necessary – whether it is in the classroom or during after-school activities.

As a resource, we expect:

• Take responsibility for ensuring set routines are followed.
• Ensure important information transfer regarding your student is provided.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and other colleagues and professionals.
• Contribute to a good working environment by keeping order in the classroom, the school's other premises, and hygiene rooms.
• Give students the opportunity to be active participants in pedagogical activities during the school day, at after-school, and during holiday care.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a positive view of students and good physical fitness. You understand that your role is crucial for the student's ability to reach their knowledge goals.

• Professional & Proactive: You see what needs to be done, whether it is supporting a student in the classroom or helping a colleague.
• Enduring & Strong: You enjoy physical work and see the care aspect as a natural part of the pedagogical everyday life.
• Communicative: You are skilled at using and introducing a variety of communication tools based on the fact that students read everything from primary school to the different curricula of adapted primary schools, and that you enjoy good communication within your team.
• Knowledge: You have experience or education in similar work (such as personal assistant, teaching assistant, childcare worker). Nursing education is a merit but not a requirement.
