We are looking for an engaged, confident, and responsible personal assistant for a 25-year-old woman with Down syndrome, autism, and an intellectual disability.

As a personal assistant, you will become an important part of her daily life, supporting her in living an independent, secure, and meaningful life based on her own conditions, needs, and wishes.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of personal assistant, you will, among other things:

• Provide support with personal care and hygiene.
• Help with dressing and undressing as well as daily routines.
• Support during meals, cooking, and other household chores.
• Motivate and encourage participation and independence in daily life.
• Provide communication support through clear and adapted interaction.
• Accompany to leisure activities and social events.
• Support with walks, exercise, and other activities.
• Contribute to structure, routines, and predictability in daily life.
• Be attentive to health, well-being, and any changed needs.
• Document according to company procedures and collaborate with relevant parties regarding the individual.

Merits

• Experience working as a personal assistant.
• Experience working within LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Disabilities) services.
• Knowledge of autism and intellectual disabilities.
• Experience with alternative and augmentative communication, e.g., PECS/TAKK.
• Experience with low-affective interaction.
