The Social Care Administration in Borås Municipality is responsible for the municipality's disability services, social psychiatry, and health care interventions for the target groups mentioned. About the Role
We are looking for two new colleagues: a physiotherapist and an occupational therapist who know that collaboration is their strength. We prefer that you work together or have worked together previously. Here, you will become a joint rehabilitative force centered around the patient.
You will belong to one of our three teams based at Bryggaregatan in Borås, but you will primarily work in the patient's home. Change rarely happens quickly here, but when it does, it is significant. Relationship, trust, and presence are often more important than individual interventions. You will work closely with nurses, support staff, and the patient themselves in an interdisciplinary team where your interaction makes a real difference in people's daily lives. Our target group is complex, making flexibility, sensitivity, and the ability to think outside the box important traits in daily work.
Responsibilities
As an occupational therapist here, you work to strengthen the individual's ability to manage their daily life and be as independent as possible. This means you work both preventively and compensatorily, always focusing on the individual's needs, resources, and participation. You assess how the person functions in their daily activities and adapt interventions based on what is important to the individual.
The work may involve training and developing skills, as well as compensating for difficulties through aids, environmental adaptations, or structuring daily life. You trial and follow up on aids, make adaptations in the home and immediate environment, and supervise staff and relatives on how best to shape support. The goal is to enable a functional daily life and increase independence, participation, and quality of life.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist with knowledge of how activity capacity is affected by disabilities and how individualized interventions can strengthen independence in daily life. You have experience in assessment, training, and compensatory interventions, as well as a person-centered and rehabilitative approach. You have good ability to work both independently and in a team, as well as to collaborate with other professional groups such as physiotherapists, nurses, and support staff. A B-driver's license is required as the work involves travel between different locations.
Experience from working in psychiatry is meritorious.
Most importantly, we want you to be engaged, curious, and secure in your role, and to have the desire to contribute to improving the daily lives of people with various functional variations. This is an incredibly meaningful role where you get to use both your competence and your creativity. Therefore, we believe that the right attitude is more important than the exact background!
If you are looking for a job where no day is like the other, where the team spirit is strong, and where you get to grow both professionally and personally - then you have found the right place!
