Summer substitutes for elderly care, disability support, and home care 2026
Do you want a meaningful and varied summer job with good pay and secure conditions? Then you are warmly welcome to apply for a summer substitute position with us in Hjo!
As a summer substitute within elderly care, disability support, or home care, you will become part of an engaged and caring work community. You will contribute both with good care and by creating a safe, content-rich, and dignified everyday life for people who need extra support – the elderly, people with disabilities, or those who are seriously ill.
With us, you will receive a competitive salary, supportive colleagues, valuable experiences, and an employer that offers good conditions. On our website, you will find more information about the units that are seeking substitutes.
Plan your summer – earn a bonus
We offer the opportunity to earn a summer bonus for our summer substitutes. You can read more about how the bonus works on Hjo.se, but you can earn up to 14,000 SEK in addition to your regular salary. For our users, continuity is important, and we want to reward the substitutes who choose to offer our users the security of meeting familiar and regular staff.
Together, we create a secure summer for those who need us the most.
Who are we looking for?
You need to be 18 years old when the employment begins. Previous experience or education within care is not a requirement – we will provide you with the introduction you need.
The most important thing for us is that you have the desire and ability to support people in their daily lives, and that you treat others with respect, sensitivity, and good cooperation. You have the ability to see what needs to be done and act accordingly. Your personal suitability is of great importance.

- You must be able to present a digital extract from the criminal record register, no older than six months, as well as a valid ID card upon job offer. Link: Work with children according to LSS, e-service | Police Authority.
Merits
This is not a requirement, but valuable additions that strengthen our operations:
- Education in nursing or pedagogy.
- Experience in similar work.
- A valid B-driver's license is required for home care services.
Are you a retiree?
If you have retired but miss the work community, wish to contribute with your experience, or want to supplement your pension, you are warmly welcome to apply. We have a special need for trained assistant nurses, employees with a pedagogical background, as well as experienced care assistants and assistants – but everyone with relevant experience is significant to us.
Were you previously employed?
We work according to the current regulations for priority rights (LAS) and welcome former employees to apply. We take internal manager references from all previously employed individuals.
How does the recruitment process work?
If you have questions, you are welcome to contact us according to the details below. If you are already hourly paid by us, you contact the Staffing Unit first.
