Specialist Physician – Welcome to our Lung Team!

We are looking for a specialist physician to join our lung team. At our clinic, you will follow patients from referral/new visit through investigation and outpatient follow-up. The specialist clinic offers X-ray, respiratory physiology, and blood gas analysis. In our multidisciplinary team, we have the opportunity to collaborate via short handling pathways in the care of multi-morbid patients.

The Lung Team has developed working methods for comprehensive care of patients with, among other conditions, obstructive lung disease and asthma. This is done through interactive collaboration between doctors, nurses with specialized training, coordinators, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, counselors, biomedical analysts, and medical secretaries. Treatment and care plans are created based on individual conditions through patient conferences.

In addition to obstructive lung disease, a broad spectrum of pulmonary conditions is managed. The TB activity is part of the Lung Clinic and focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of TB as well as contact tracing. We perform lung function tests, spirometry, IOS, NO measurement, and several other examinations.

The Lung Team also has a mandate to prevent ill health, with a focus on tobacco prevention. The majority of our nurses are certified tobacco cessation specialists. The Lung Team also works with COPD schools. Preventive work also takes place outside the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Work within specialist pulmonary care, exclusively outpatient Monday-Friday, currently daytime hours.
• The role includes interpreting various respiratory physiology examinations, consulting work within the mobile team, and ensuring that diagnostics and treatment occur according to current guidelines and recommendations.
• Participate in the continued work to develop pulmonary activities, contribute to staff competency development, and collaborate with other actors such as ASIH (Advanced Surgical Inpatient Home care), primary care, municipalities, and other hospitals.
• Be easily accessible for consultation regarding pulmonary conditions.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician with specialist competence in pulmonary diseases.
• Experience and competence in managing outpatient patients with lung diseases and lung infections.
• Good social competence and teamwork skills, as our work is based on teamwork.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required.
