Description

Ward 5 is a Geriatric Orthopedic Emergency Care Unit (GOA) operating on a smaller scale. This is part of Kungälv Hospital's new construction to meet future care needs in modern facilities. We primarily treat patients with hip fractures and secondarily those with osteoporosis-related fractures. Each patient is cared for in their own smartly designed room, benefiting both the patient and the staff.

We offer you a varied and enjoyable job with plenty of support from the ward manager and helpful colleagues. Our senior nurses and experienced nursing assistants are on-site to support you as a newcomer, ensuring a good and secure start to your professional life. Our doctors also serve as mentors for the nurses.

We believe a good introduction is important, and we will plan it based on your needs.

You will work in a team together with 1-2 nursing assistants, experienced doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other rehabilitation staff as needed. Our strength lies in our good cooperation between all professional categories, with everyone adopting a rehabilitative approach.

The hospital has a care coordination team that supports discharge planning and competence development in the IT system SAMSA when needed. We also have assistance from a pharmacist on the ward who prepares medications and provides support with medication-related questions. Region Service helps us with storage, cleaning, and patient transport within the hospital, and they also transport beds to and from the bed washer.

The position offers a base schedule for day and evening shifts according to the Working Time Act, and we work every other weekend. Special night staff is available, so there is no requirement for three-shift work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have nursing education, preferably with hospital care experience, but also welcome newly graduated candidates. You should be able to work both independently and collaboratively with a patient focus.

Knowledge and experience of orthopedic and geriatric care are meritorious. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Clinical Foundation Year

For you who are a newly graduated nurse/radiographer, a clinical foundation year is included during the first year of your permanent employment. The clinical foundation year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulator Center. It also involves shadowing in other units to give you a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This initiative is designed to give you the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.
