About the Department

The Eating Disorders Center for Children and Young Adults is a highly specialized unit comprising an inpatient ward, outpatient clinic, and day care. The outpatient clinic and day care serve patients with severe eating disorders residing in the Gothenburg region.

In addition, our ward has both a regional and a national mandate, known as the NHV mandate, targeting difficult-to-treat eating disorders. Part of the ward cares for children and families and is co-located with the adolescent ward.

Continuous development and research are conducted within the department.

Care on the ward is provided in teams. The team includes doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, treatment assistants, counselors, family therapists, and psychologists. We collaborate with dietitians, chefs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and music therapists.

During the treatment period, which is approximately 12 weeks for adolescents and 8 weeks for families and children, patients with severe eating disorders are offered treatment according to a structured care program. We offer Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) and Family-Based Treatment.

We continuously engage in development work. As part of this, there is a broad strengthening of competence levels in care. The staff group has joint training initiatives. Our two wards collaborate through internal exchange, support, and cooperation. We have a very exciting time ahead!

What do we offer?

We offer both internal and external education in the field of eating disorders. We also invest in training regarding treatment within relevant methods.

Our goal is to create well-functioning care that meets the needs and conditions of patients and their relatives in the best possible way. In this work, care staff and other parts of the team play an active role.

Responsibilities

Standard somatic and psychiatric nursing tasks with a focus on conversation. The patient group often has comorbid somatic and psychiatric conditions, both acute and long-term. You will use and develop your competence in both interaction and care. Occasionally, more acute medical conditions may arise.

You will work with children and families under the age of 16, where parents are seen as the child's most important resource. A large part of the work involves supporting the parents.

About You

We are looking for someone who wants to work with children and families and has an interest in both psychiatry and somatics. You have nursing education with a focus on psychiatry or somatics. Previous experience in child and adolescent psychiatry or work with eating disorders is advantageous.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Interviews are conducted continuously during the application period.
