Do you want to work in an organization that drives the development of a sustainable and innovative food system?
We are now looking for an experienced and engaged Economist/Controller for a longer consulting assignment as a parental leave replacement.
The operations are located in Södertälje and are conducted through several development projects focusing on business development, public meals, sustainable menu concepts, and other future-oriented initiatives.
About the assignment
As an economist with our client, you will be an important cog in a project team where you must keep track of all regulations required by regional, state, and EU-funded projects. You do not hesitate to tackle bureaucratic issues, you have a firm grasp of numbers, but are also flexible where possible. Therefore, you are meticulous and analytical, have an open mind, and a desire to find solutions to complex problems. You will work closely with project management, monitor all project budgets, report finances to our funders, and communicate budget outcomes to the municipality's internal administration, project teams, steering groups, and partners, which requires a certain degree of pedagogical skill. The role also includes administrative tasks such as invoice processing and archiving.
The assignment is a full-time position starting immediately and running until August 2027.
Your responsibilities
- Conduct economic investigations and analyses together with the organization's managers.
- Collect, process, and analyze economic data.
- Make independent assessments and produce reports and decision support materials.
- Work with annual accounts, budgets, forecasts, and economic follow-up.
- Present analyses and economic material to management and operations.
- Create budgets at various levels and follow up on the organization's finances.
- Provide management and operations with economic support and relevant economic information.
- Develop and improve economic processes and routines.
- Create guidelines for budget work and plan and coordinate budget processes.
- Responsible for economic reporting to funders.
- Handle administrative tasks such as invoice processing and archiving.
Your qualifications
- An academic degree in economics or another equivalent education with an economic focus.
- Experience working in the public sector.
- Experience with budget work, follow-up, and forecasts in larger organizations (preferably a municipality).
- Good knowledge of accounting.
- Experience working in economic systems, preferably Unit4 ERP (Agresso) and e-commerce systems.
- Experience handling large budgets.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as well as good knowledge of English.
- At least two years of experience as a controller.
Merits
- Experience with economic reporting and accounting to funders such as Tillväxtverket, Swedish ESF Council, Vinnova, the Swedish Board of Agriculture, or regions.
- Knowledge of the reporting requirements and systems of the aforementioned organizations.
- Experience with economic systems such as Unit4 ERP (Agresso), Raindance, or Visma.
