About Fågelsångens School

Fågelsångens School is a grades F-9 school with approximately 425 students, as well as an adapted primary school with 16 students. The school offers bright and well-adapted learning environments. Here, you will meet an engaged and competent collegium that works solution-focused and with a strong culture of responsibility.

We are in an active development process where collaboration is the foundation of everything we do. The school has a well-functioning student health team with broad competence.

In the adapted primary school, you work together with a team consisting of teachers, teaching assistants, and leisure-time center teachers. Together, you create a safe, structured, and developmental learning environment based on each student's individual needs.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an engaged and knowledgeable teacher for our adapted primary school. You have primary responsibility for teaching and actively contribute to the development of the operations.

The duties include:

• Planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching based on the students' individual prerequisites
• Working with clarifying pedagogy and adaptations
• Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborating closely with colleagues as well as student health services and guardians
• Participating in the school's development work
• Serving as a mentor and having regular contact with guardians
• Supervising teaching assistants and leisure-time center teachers

Qualifications and Requirements

To be qualified to teach in an adapted primary school according to the School Act, the following are required:

• A primary teacher degree with a focus on grades 4-6
• A special needs teacher degree with a focus on intellectual disability

As a general rule, to become qualified to teach in an adapted primary school, you must have a special needs teacher degree with a focus on intellectual disability. Additionally, a teacher degree is required. You also become qualified if your teacher degree includes a focus or specialization in intellectual disability.

We are also looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with students in need of special support/intellectual disability
• Has good ability to adapt teaching based on individual needs
• Is a clear and secure leader in the classroom
• Has good collaboration skills and thrives in teamwork
• Is flexible, solution-oriented, and responsible
• Has an inclusive approach and sees every student's potential
