After-School Centre Teacher for Medical Support – Campus Manilla
Campus Manilla Utbildning ABStockholms län, Stockholm
Previous experience is desired
MUNICIPALITY: STOCKHOLM PROFESSION: After-School Centre Teacher
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Fixed-term
NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1
About You
We are looking for someone who is calm, structured, and has a high sense of responsibility. Since the position involves medical self-care (blood sugar monitoring and insulin management), experience with diabetes is highly meritorious, but the most important qualities are that you are meticulous, eager to learn, and confident in making daily decisions.
You are a skilled relationship builder who easily creates trust with the student, guardians, and colleagues. As a person, you are flexible, have good teamwork skills, and can maintain your composure even in stressful situations. You have a natural ability to be available as a discreet support in the background, allowing the student to be as independent and involved as possible within the group.
Your Responsibilities
Your main task is to follow and support a first-grade student throughout the entire school day – in the classroom, during recess, and at the after-school centre.
The duties include:
- Medical Self-Care: Continuously monitoring the student's blood sugar (via CGM/app), assisting with meals and snacks, and helping with insulin dosing according to the care plan. (You will receive thorough introduction and training from the student's guardians and school nurse).
- Pedagogical and Social Support: Helping the student maintain focus in the classroom, supporting social interaction with classmates, and ensuring the student can participate safely in all activities and physical education lessons.
- Collaboration: Maintaining close and transparent communication with the student's parents, class teacher, after-school staff, and the school's student health team.
We are looking for someone who prioritizes the student's safety, health, and inclusion. To succeed in this role, you need to be a warm and sensitive person who is passionate about creating a predictable and safe environment where the student can focus on learning, playing, and developing together with their friends.
The position starts in August.
