Fornbackaskolan is a two-parallel F-6 school with approximately 340 students and 80 staff members. We operate as both a regular primary school and a special needs primary school, which includes a section for students with mobility impairments. The school also houses its own special education group and a municipal shared special education group. Fornbackaskolan is a multicultural school located in the heart of a residential area where most of our students live. At Fornbackaskolan, we view diversity as an asset, with a focus on the equal value of everyone.

At Fornbackaskolan, we work based on a language and knowledge-developing approach. The importance of communication and interaction is central here. Teachers use cooperative support structures to encourage students to communicate and use language actively. There is also a focus on strengthening students' reading skills by systematically training decoding and language comprehension. We actively work to increase students' vocabulary by introducing new words in meaningful contexts and providing opportunities for students to use these words in conversation exercises or their own written texts.

Through an accessible learning environment, we ensure that all students have a positive learning experience and the opportunity to reach their full potential. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and tablets. All tablets are equipped with the software available on Skolon, the municipality's shared digital platform.

The Position

We are looking for an engaged and confident assistant for the special needs primary school. The role involves providing support to students in both learning situations and care-related tasks, in close collaboration with colleagues. At Fornbackaskolan, you will be part of a work team with other teachers in the special needs primary school. You will also collaborate closely with other classroom assistants, teaching teachers, and the unit's team leader.

Responsibilities

• Support students in teaching situations based on individual needs
• Perform care-related tasks, such as personal hygiene and mobility assistance
• Handle and support medical needs according to instructions
• Participate in activities such as swimming and sports
• Collaborate with teachers, other assistants, and student health services
• Contribute to a safe and structured school environment

Who are you?

Requirements:

• Experience in care-related work
• Ability to handle medical needs (e.g., feeding tubes, medication, or similar)
• Swimming proficiency and comfort in water
• Experience working with children/students requiring special support
• Good teamwork skills and experience working in teams
• Strong communication skills

• Responsible and proactive
• Ability to create security and build trusting relationships

Merits:

• Education in healthcare, childcare, or similar
• Experience in special needs primary schools or similar operations

Fornbackaskolan is located approximately 1 km from the Östertälje commuter train station. Buses run regularly past the school, and the bus stop is located approximately 100 meters from the school.
