Do you want to contribute to professional pride, job satisfaction, and hope for the future? At Astar, we educate adults – in a mature way. We are proud of our mission and are now looking for you who share our values and want to make a difference.

About Us

Astar is a leading actor in adult education. Our vision is to contribute to a strong and resilient labor market. We offer not just education and jobs – we create professional pride and job satisfaction.

Our Values

  • Professional Pride – We are knowledgeable, experienced, and work closely with the labor market. We use resources wisely and with respect.
  • Perseverance – We never give up – neither on our students nor on ourselves. We believe in development through responsibility and high expectations.
  • Job Satisfaction – We build good relationships, are curious, enthusiastic, and welcoming. Together, we create a workplace where people enjoy being.

A Fresh Start

This summer, we take an exciting next step as our bakery education moves to new, inspiring premises on Gärdet. There, we will have the opportunity to build Bistro Astar together with the chef education – a new concept where education, professional pride, and reality meet in everyday life. Here, our students will not only develop their skills in a safe and structured learning environment but also become part of a live operation where lunches are served and home-baked goods meet real customers. In close interaction with working life, we create an educational environment where learning becomes meaningful, concrete, and future-oriented. For you who want to be part of building something new, this is a unique opportunity to shape an operation from the start – and together with colleagues and students, create a place filled with quality, job satisfaction, and hope for the future.

About the Role

We are looking for a teacher for our bakery education within adult education. As a bakery teacher, you teach adult students both practically and theoretically in upper secondary courses in bakery and confectionery, focusing on professional knowledge, food handling, and production in a bakery environment.

You lead the teaching based on the Astar Model, where clear steps, teacher-led instruction, controlled understanding, and structured guidance create the best possible conditions for students' learning, security, and professional development.

You plan and conduct teaching that gives students the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to work professionally in the bakery and confectionery industry. This means you alternate practical sessions, such as dough preparation, baking techniques, production, hygiene, and work according to food regulations, with theoretical lectures on topics such as raw material knowledge, nutrition, work environment, and quality assurance. Through a clear teacher-led approach, high quality, progression, and a strong link between theory and practice are ensured.

The role also includes actively sourcing, matching, and following up on APL (Workplace-Based Learning) placements. You collaborate closely with the industry and ensure that students receive relevant and high-quality practical environments where they have the opportunity to achieve course goals. You follow up on students' development, communicate with supervisors, and are responsible for assessment and grading, where APL is an integrated part of the education.

As a teacher with us, you work in close collaboration with working life from the start of the education and support students on their path to work, further studies, and a strong professional identity.

As a teacher and employee at Astar, you base your work on our values – professional pride, perseverance, and job satisfaction. This means you maintain a high professional level, take full responsibility for students' learning, have high expectations, and contribute to a positive and developmental learning climate. You build good relationships with both students and the industry and actively contribute to an engaged and solution-focused work team where student development is always at the center.

We are looking for you who are trained as a baker with at least 2 years of professional experience and a strong interest in teaching your craft.

It is highly meritorious if you are trained as a vocational teacher in the field or have previous experience in educating adults or upper secondary students.

We Offer

  • A workplace where you can grow and develop.
  • A team that supports each other and celebrates successes together.
  • The opportunity to truly impact people's lives.

Do you want to make a difference? Apply today and become part of Astar!
