Job Description

We are now looking for you who are a teacher for grades 7-9 with qualifications in Physical Education and Health to join Mellanhedsskolan.

This is a temporary position for one of our PE teachers who is on study leave. During the term, this position may transition into a resource role where you substitute in all other subjects and grades at the school as needed. You will be part of a team of teachers where you together plan and are responsible for the students' education and development. Your focus lies in creating the best conditions for each student in a safe and trusting environment. Your duties may also include mentoring some of our students. In your role as a mentor, you have specific responsibility for a group of students, giving you the opportunity to follow their development more closely. As a mentor, you inform and keep the student's guardians updated on the student's academic progress through regular development meetings.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher with qualifications for teaching grades 7-9 in the subject of Physical Education and Health. Previous experience working as a teacher is considered an asset. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can use them effectively in your daily work. Furthermore, you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills, allowing you to lead and organize your work to create a conducive learning environment and good study atmosphere for our students throughout their school day. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good knowledge and practice, you work efficiently with relevant digital tools. Naturally, you have a professional attitude and work towards building good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace

Mellanhedsskolan offers activities for students from preschool class to grade 9, as well as adapted primary school for grades 1-9. Approximately 1,100 students attend the school. In autumn 2022, Mellanhedsskolan took over the premises that previously housed Slottstadens skola. This means that Mellanhedsskolan operates in two school units. Mellanheden 1 has activities for grades F-3, while Mellanheden 2 (formerly Slottstadens skola) has activities for grades 4-9.
