Welcome to a small school with a big heart!
In Kiaby, nature and bathing areas are close by. Our schoolyard might be the finest we have seen, and we are proud of our "Skapan," where students get to create and build both freely and in planned activities. At Kiaby School, we work to promote various forms of expression and want to further develop students' opportunities for artistic creation. We also actively work for tolerance and respect for everyone's equal value, by creating meetings with people who are both alike and different.
At Kiaby School, we have approximately 66 students distributed in age-heterogeneous classes from preschool class to grade 6. We have two after-school departments with approx. 40 enrolled students and are a total of approx. 10 educators helping out with the school and after-school activities.
New for the school year 26/27 is a small, special teaching group where students who need teaching in a small group can receive support from teachers in the special educational needs team, teachers in the after-school center, and special educators. We have a close collaboration with Fjälkinge School, where our students have their lessons in physical education, crafts, home economics, and language choice.
Since it can be difficult to align working hours with the possibility of using public transport to and from Kiaby, it is an advantage to ensure that you can get to work without being dependent on local traffic.
If you, like us, value solution-focused approaches, growing through meeting others, and keeping the student in focus, then we hope you have become interested in working with us and look forward to your application.
Your role with us
As a teacher with us, you stimulate students to learning and taking personal responsibility. With engagement and enthusiasm, you create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation, through good leadership both inside and outside the classroom.
The teaching is designed based on the goals of the curriculum, where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are important pillars. You have positive and high expectations of the students and adapt the teaching to the level of all students, with a focus on the student's best interests.
Through dialogue, you create good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting approach. In your role, you keep up to date with events in the outside world and young people's daily lives. Alternative teaching tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. You systematically reflect on the practical work and, together with colleagues, drive development work in the work group/school. You also have a shared responsibility for both your own and the group's planning and further development.
If you are new as a teacher, you are supported by a mentor for the best guidance in the work, and you as an unqualified teacher can conduct teaching but not be responsible for it. Responsibility for grading lies with a certified teacher.
Who are we looking for?
We are primarily looking for you with a teaching license with the qualification to conduct teaching in grades 4-6 in the subjects of Swedish, English, and Social Science subjects in primary school. Secondly, we are looking for you who have subject knowledge at the university level in the above subjects. It is an advantage if you have pedagogical education at the university level. If you have previously worked as a teacher in primary school or have experience in conducting teaching, it is an advantage. We want you to have the ability to support students in handling conflicts that arise, and if you also have a good ability to teach children in need of special support, it is an advantage.
You have the ability to adapt the teaching based on each student's prerequisites, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, peace and quiet, and a desire to learn. You have engagement, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the school's world and how it is affected by the outside world.
A success factor is that you can create trusting relationships both in and outside of school. Furthermore, you are a secure pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the work group's methods for continuous development.
Of course, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure the work based on stated goals.
As a person, you are communicative, receptive, and well-acquainted, and you live up to the ethical principles for teachers and have a talent for analyzing and documenting students' abilities and knowledge.
To enable us to make a decision on your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching license. If there are no qualified certified teachers, you as an unqualified person can be employed for a limited time according to the School Act. When we want to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police criminal record so that we can employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the School Act.
