Responsibilities

You will work as a comprehensive school teacher in crafts, wood, and metalwork for grades 3-9. As a teacher at Bergaskolan, you conduct modern and creative teaching, finding strategies to reach every student and strengthen them in both knowledge development and personal growth. Your duties include planning, implementing, and evaluating pedagogical work based on the school's guidelines and the students' needs and interests, both individually and together with the team you belong to. You collaborate with other school staff to ensure a good learning and working environment for both students and staff, and actively participate in the school's development work. You may also have mentor responsibilities for a class.

Qualifications

You are a certified comprehensive school teacher in crafts, wood, and metalwork for grades 3-9. Experience in the teaching profession is an advantage. You have good insight and knowledge of the school's guidelines and apply them in daily work. You are creative and can adapt your approach and pedagogical methods and techniques based on the individual student's needs or the student group's needs. You develop the pedagogical activities to be fun, inspiring, and challenging. We assume that you view each student from a holistic perspective and have a positive view of students. You build good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You have good computer skills and experience using IT in your teaching. It is necessary that you master good Swedish in speech and writing.

About the workplace

Bergaskolan is a school with all the facilities needed for a comprehensive school (grades 1-9). Here you will find a large, bright cafeteria, home economics classrooms, a dedicated science building, and a library where students have access to knowledgeable staff, newspapers, magazines, as well as new and old fiction books and non-fiction books on various subjects. Bergaskolan has an auditorium with a stage and seating for 150 people. We hold all our sports activities at Limhamn Sports Hall. Bergaskolan is located in Limhamn, close to the city center, green areas, and the sea. Bergaskolan is a school with determined and study-motivated students, which is reflected in the good results they achieve. The school has a stable and knowledgeable teaching staff that knows the value of setting demands and having high expectations.
