Social Worker for Economic Assistance in Stenungsund Municipality
Stenungsund – a good society with hope for the future and development, where people and nature are at the center.
Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 28,030 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential environments close to the sea, and good transport links. The municipality has a well-developed cultural and association life, as well as excellent conditions for outdoor recreation. The municipality's key words are wholeness, openness, participation, and transparency.
The municipality's vision is to reach 35,000 inhabitants by 2035. Stenungsund Municipality is part of the Gothenburg Region Municipal Association, which serves as a forum for cooperation and experience sharing, as well as several other inter-municipal collaborations.
We work to improve the living conditions for our citizens and are now looking for you who are interested in becoming part of our unit working with Economic Assistance. As a Social Worker at the Support and Social Security Unit, you need to believe in people's own abilities, even when the person you meet may not believe in themselves. You need to know most things about how society functions, and it is an advantage if you also have experience working with individuals who are far from the labor market.
1 position(s).
Job Responsibilities
The work with economic assistance is based on two parts. On the one hand, we work to ensure that individuals have a reasonable standard of living, and on the other hand, we work to support individuals in becoming self-sufficient. In your work, you will meet people in various life situations, and your task is to investigate their right to assistance, develop a suitable action plan together with the client, and motivate for change and independence. Great focus is placed on ensuring everyone receives the right support based on their individual conditions. To make this even better, we collaborate with the Labor Market Unit (AME). Our goal is that the interventions and methods we use should strengthen individuals' self-efficacy and facilitate their path to self-sufficiency.
The Swedish Riksdag has decided on a new activity requirement for adults receiving social assistance. The purpose is to strengthen the path to self-sufficiency by offering meaningful engagement and increasing the opportunity for work or studies. This work has already begun in our municipality, and the law comes into force on July 1st.
We have come far in digitizing our applications and processes. This is to free up time from the administrative part of the work. We use this time to strengthen the social work around individuals who need significant support to become self-sufficient.
We value respectful and kind treatment, legally secure case processing, and faith in people's own strength.
You will be part of our work group, which currently consists of a team leader and seven social workers handling intake and implementation. Together with the work group and the Labor Market Unit, you will be involved in shaping future support for the individuals we meet.
The methods we use include, among others:
- Creating action and implementation plans together with each individual.
- Interventions via the Swedish Public Employment Service, AME, the Älv and Coast Coordination Association, and our own rehabilitation activity, Åbacka Garden.
- Collaborating with other units and partners, e.g., through SIP, resource group work, or multi-party meetings.
- Using the IPS method.
Qualifications
You who apply for the position have a degree in Social Work or other relevant higher education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience of working within social services is meritorious. Previous experience of working with social assistance is meritorious.
You have a positive attitude and see the value of collaborating with others so that every person can access the right support in their unique situation.
A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
The position may be filled before the application deadline, so do not wait to submit your application!
