Payroll Manager – Lead, Develop, and Digitalize the Payroll Function of the Future

The role is based in Sandviken with a hybrid working model.

Your Role

As Payroll Manager, you have overall responsibility for the payroll process, payroll systems, and the team. The focus is on ensuring quality, efficiency, and delivery – while driving development and digitalization. In this role, you will report to the Head of People Shared Services.

You will be responsible for, among other things:

• Leading, coaching, and developing the team within the payroll function – personnel responsibility for 7 employees.
• Ensuring delivery through the team – ensuring that payroll is handled correctly and on time.
• Responsible for systems and development of time and payroll systems together with the team.
• Driving change, automation, and digitalization to streamline operations.
• Initiating and leading improvement projects within the organization.
• Monitoring quality and results regarding documentation, risk management, reporting, and processes.
• Serving as a support and sounding board for the team, managers, and employees on payroll-related matters.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a strong foundation in payroll and a clear interest in developing both people and processes. You have experience in qualified payroll work, a good understanding of the entire payroll process, and knowledge of Swedish collective agreements for both blue-collar and white-collar workers. You are accustomed to complex setups, such as shift work, and have experience in improvement work, projects, or digitalization. You communicate fluently in Swedish and English and have good system proficiency.

You have relevant education in payroll, economics, or HR, or equivalent work experience. Previous management experience is an advantage, but we also welcome you who are a senior payroll specialist with leadership experience and want to take the next step. Experience from the steel and metal industry, HRM, or TimeKey, as well as large change projects, is an advantage.
