About the company Aeronautics is a business area within Saab AB, offering advanced airborne systems, related subsystems, unmanned aerial systems, aircraft structures, and services to defense customers and commercial aviation industries worldwide.

The assignment will be within the Gripen Business Unit, which focuses on the development, production, maintenance, and operational support of the Gripen fighter aircraft system. We possess all the competencies required to provide a complete product and service offering to our customers to support their operations. You will belong to the Commercial & Estimating department, organized within the Sales unit. We believe in always striving to win and execute a sound and profitable business based on knowledge and good business terms.

Your responsibilities

As a Commercial Manager, you will provide business support within the Gripen Business Unit for ongoing and new contracts. This role primarily concerns contracts with our Swedish customer, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).

In this role, you will be a key team member responsible for all commercial matters related to both the execution of existing contracts and the acquisition of new business. You will be based in Linköping but are expected to have frequent contact with other business areas within Saab as well as Swedish authorities, such as FMV. Therefore, some travel, primarily within Sweden, will be required. You will be part of a team where you lead and drive business-related issues.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Building close, long-term business relationships within Saab and with Saab's customers.
  • Driving business activities to secure new business and execute signed contracts.
  • Being responsible for business information, including pricing and the evaluation of costs, risks, and opportunities.
  • Analyzing and assessing contract profitability, including cash flow analysis and payment plans.
  • Preparing contract proposals and negotiating contract terms.
  • Helping to develop suitable business models and business structures.
  • Performing other business-related tasks to win and execute deals.

Your profile We are looking for you to have a university degree in a relevant field, such as economics, business law, or civil engineering. We believe you have well-developed analytical skills and good business acumen. You have the ability to combine strategic thinking with high analytical capability and thrive working in teams with close customer interfaces. You are comfortable in a complex environment, have a pragmatic and cooperative attitude, and are motivated to work focused even during intensive periods. We value relevant experience in contract management, negotiations, calculations, and pricing.

Fluent proficiency in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required for this position.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance process according to current regulations. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
