We are looking for you to work as a personal assistant for a 44-year-old woman in Lund. You will work at Anna's home in northern Lund. In this role, you will be Anna's support regardless of where she is and what help she needs.

Who is Anna?

Anna has had a developmental disability since birth. She listens to a lot of music, enjoys being out in nature, and likes to listen when someone reads to her. Anna does not communicate through speech but only through emotional expressions. Anna lives with her parents in a detached house.

What does the job involve?

Anna needs help with all personal hygiene, feeding, and other care. She stands and walks with assistance indoors, but sometimes uses a wheelchair outdoors. She is usually at home but tries to go out for an activity outside the home once a day. This often involves walking, sometimes physiotherapy.

Anna also has certain medical disabilities. For example, administering medication and providing certain treatments are part of the job.

How is the work organized?

As Anna's assistant, you will be part of a small work group together with a few people who have worked with Anna for many years. During the first week, you will shadow other assistants and learn what you need to know. After that, you will work alone with Anna, but there is an opportunity to contact other experienced assistants and a nurse if needed. The entire work team meets every month for coffee, conversation, schedule planning, and sometimes short training sessions. There is also the possibility of additional training within the service. The work group has continuous supervision/conversations with a licensed psychotherapist.

Employment conditions

We offer the possibility of a flexible schedule, as the schedule is set at staff meetings based on the assistants' preferences as much as possible. Anna has round-the-clock assistance, which means you can request day work, night work, or a combination. We offer employment ranging from 25-100%, according to preference. Hourly wage with shift allowance applies. Since the schedule is planned on an ongoing basis, you can work more in some months and less in others if desired.

You will work in a small and quiet work environment. Anna lives in northern Lund, close to a bus stop.

A wellness allowance is included. The employment provides a pension plan according to an agreement with FORA.

Who are you?

Personal suitability is important for this position. You must be able to work well with Anna. It is important that you are empathetic, flexible, resourceful, and able to inspire and motivate her. Achieving this requires both patience and initiative. It is important that you have sufficient Swedish language skills to understand instructions regarding medication, etc., both orally and in writing.

The job involves lifting Anna when necessary. We welcome applicants from all age groups as Anna enjoys having different people around her. If you have education/experience in healthcare, it is an advantage but not a requirement. The job with Anna does not require a driver's license.
