Your role with us

As a social pedagogue, you provide practical support to students and their guardians. You identify which students need support and interventions and assist students in both social and educational situations throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom, striving to create the right conditions for a safe school environment. You build good relationships with both students and guardians, conducting motivational conversations with students and advisory and follow-up conversations with guardians. You plan and carry out activities for individual students or groups based on their needs, with the aim of promoting security and a conducive learning environment.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with other school staff and the student health team. Understanding each other's professional roles is of utmost importance. In consultation with the student health team, you may assist in contacting authorities and external agencies, such as the Employment and Social Services Administration, Child Habilitation, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and, if necessary, conduct home visits to reach students who do not attend school. The work can be both physically demanding and mentally stressful.

Who are we looking for?

You, the applicant, have:

• A degree in Social Pedagogy at least at the Bachelor's level (180 ECTS / 120 credits).
• A two-year social pedagogical education from a folk high school or university college.
• A degree or approved grades from a corresponding education at a university/university college/university college that the employer deems sufficiently comprehensive.

We require you to have at least one year of experience working with children and young people. It is an advantage if you have training in ART (Aggression Reduction) and MI (Motivational Interviewing).

You have the ability to choose appropriate methods within the pedagogical techniques used by the school. We are looking for someone who acts independently and collaboratively for the benefit of children and students, with respect and openness to different people's life situations and choices. You have knowledge of work with inclusion and social participation.

Good ability to document and communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing, is required for the role. You are receptive in interactions with different target groups and meet them in a balanced, low-arousal, and respectful manner. You also need a good ability to guide students based on their experiences and prerequisites.

To allow us to assess your application, you must attach proof of education/certificates for your completed studies. When we wish to offer you the position, you are required to present an extract from the police criminal record, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2, Sections 31–33 of the Swedish Education Act.
