Job Responsibilities
We are currently looking for a staff member for a night shift position at Kriscentrum Boende Heder. Kriscentrum Boende Heder is an HVB (home for care or housing) for young women (legal gender female), aged 14–22, who are exposed to honor-related violence and oppression or intimate partner violence and have a need for protection.
All placements are preceded by contact with social services and can occur both planned and on an emergency basis, around the clock. Staff are supportive in the assessment of protection needs.
As a social secretary working the night shift, you will work in a team of five colleagues with a rotating schedule. Shifts are scheduled either from 16:00–03:00 (followed by on-call duty until 07:00) or between 20:30/21:00–07:15.
During parts of the night, you will work together on-site. Between 03:00 and 07:00, one social secretary works alone in the facility, but always has access to a colleague on standby who can be reached by phone and will come to the site if necessary. Additionally, a manager is on standby available for support and guidance.
During the night, you will primarily engage in informative and, above all, supportive conversations, telephone duty calls, documentation, and collaboration with the Social Emergency Service. The work also involves practical tasks in the residence and calm activities for children and young adults in the evening. It is important that night staff motivate the placed youths to go to bed at a reasonable time, as sleep is often crucial for their well-being. It is also important to have a good understanding of crisis and trauma.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work and several years of relevant experience in social work. We also want you to have previously encountered cases involving honor-related violence and oppression as well as intimate partner violence through your work. It is an advantage if you have education and/or experience in the following areas:
- Protected housing
- HVB (Home for Care or Housing)
- Patriark
- FREDA
- Heva
- MI
- TMO
- Investigation within Child and Family Services
- Work with youth
As a person, we see that you have good collaboration skills, allowing you to listen and show interest and understanding for other people. You have a good approach and the ability to quickly build good relationships with others. Furthermore, you should be able to plan your work independently and take responsibility for your tasks. You have great drive, are receptive, and adapt easily to changing circumstances. Given the nature of the operations, it is crucial that you communicate clearly, are confident in yourself, and have the ability to build trust. You must be able to make quick and clear decisions that may involve difficult choices. You should be able to take initiative, act with confidence, and work independently. It is important that you contribute to the work group and recognize the importance of being a team player. You must be able to listen, consult colleagues/managers, and communicate proactively.
You will work with young people and young adults in a collective where, as a staff member, you are expected to handle placed individuals individually as well as in groups. Knowledge of conflict management is an advantage. It is crucial that you show respect for the opinions and contributions of other group members (both colleagues and placed individuals).
You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Proficiency in other languages is an advantage. Experience working night shifts is also advantageous for the position. A B-driver's license for manual transmission cars is desirable but not required.
