Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually tailored involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working at SiS offers you a challenging and exciting career. SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården receives non-compulsory school-age girls. We have operations in Fjugesta, three miles west of Örebro, and a satellite unit in Granhult, 3 miles north of Lindesberg. The girls come to us due to psychosocial issues, as well as problems with criminality or drug abuse.
Job Description
Do you want to make a vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the role of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth/clients towards new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment.
You contribute to ensuring that routines on the ward function as intended. You play a major role in the stability and security of our youth/clients, and form the foundation of daily life, including (school attendance), cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain order and security at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building safe relationships and contribute to providing our youth/clients with the security and safety they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and involvement. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and a capacity to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressurized situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
- Category B driver's license
- Good Swedish language skills (spoken and written)
Meritorious
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Probation Officer
- Security Guard Training
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., Case Officer at the Detention Centre
- Education in care and nursing

Employment:
The position is a temporary hourly contract where each work shift is booked according to agreement. Working hours are according to schedule: day - evening and weekend.
Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
