We are now looking for a personal assistant for a customer living in Örebro.

About the job as a personal assistant

As a personal assistant, you work closely with a person with a disability in their daily life. You assist and support the person in everyday life and during leisure time. Your workplace is where the customer is located, and your overall task is to assist the customer so that they have the conditions to live the life they desire.

Job Responsibilities

Your tasks depend on the customer's needs and lifestyle. The customer enjoys moving quickly and likes to race around in their wheelchair; it is important that you, as an assistant, can keep up with his pace. You accompany the customer on walks and visit playgrounds and other places the customer likes. The customer has poor vision and therefore needs your help describing their surroundings; what you and others are doing, preparing for sounds that might be frightening, and helping the customer see and experience things together with you. The customer uses their other senses to enhance their reduced vision: taste, touch, hearing, and smell. The customer sits in a wheelchair that they drive themselves indoors. It is important that you can work the shifts listed further down.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, perceptive, and quick to learn new tasks. It is important that you, as an assistant, are calm and patient to best help the customer move forward in training and development. Just as it takes time for you, it takes time for the customer to learn new things, and it is important that you, as an assistant, have the will and calmness to give the customer the right conditions to succeed with the challenges we undertake. It is of great importance that you can speak and write fluent Swedish.

About the employment

We are now looking for a permanent employee who can work 2 days/week. Sundays from 11:00–18:00 and Mondays from 15:00–19:00. The working hours are scheduled for the afternoon and evening, both weekdays and weekends. You must also be able to work daytime during holidays and be available to step in when the customer is sick and at home from school. You must also be able to substitute for other assistants when they are sick or on leave.

Salary and other terms of employment according to the Collective Agreement for Personal Assistance, Vårdföretagarna – Kommunal.
