We are now recruiting staff for First Contact – a contact center that receives children and young people up to 18 years old with mental health issues. The work is characterized by great variation. We encounter a wide range of issues – from mild anxiety and need for counseling to more complex psychosocial and psychiatric situations. Job Responsibilities
The work is mainly carried out via telephone and digital tools. The operations are constantly developing to best meet the needs of children and young people with mental health issues. You provide counseling, conduct structured assessments that contribute to transferring and/or referring to the appropriate level of care. The assignment includes early identification of psychosocial problems and interaction factors in the child's environment, as well as making holistic assessments from both medical and psychosocial perspectives. You collaborate closely with family, preschool/school, social services, and other healthcare providers, making your ability to coordinate, communicate, and build trust central. As a new employee, you are offered an introduction with a mentor.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is:
- A registered nurse or social worker/counselor
- Has good knowledge of child and youth development from a psychological, social, and/or medical perspective
- Has experience with assessments, preferably within psychiatry, social work, or similar operations
- Has the ability to make holistic assessments where both psychosocial and medical factors are weighed in
- Has good knowledge of the missions of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), primary care, and/or social services
- Is confident in conversations, even in complex situations, and has a good ability to meet both children/young people and guardians
It is an advantage if you have previous knowledge and experience of child psychiatric problems and neuropsychiatric disabilities.

About the Operations
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services is part of specialized psychiatric care and includes outpatient care, enhanced outpatient care, and a care unit with emergency operations. Within the operations, there is also First Contact with the mission to provide counseling, make assessments, and triage to the appropriate level of care. We work with both individual and group-based interventions, planned and emergency visits, as well as telephone counseling. We also offer psychoeducational interventions for patients and relatives. Together, we are approximately 150 employees who work in multiprofessional teams with a holistic view of the child's needs. Psychiatry within Region Örebro County consists of approximately 900 employees and is characterized by a focus on ethics, collaboration, development, as well as a strong education and research environment.
