We are expanding our team and are currently looking for two residential support workers with experience working with individuals who have been exposed to various forms of violence and are therefore in need of protection.

Within the team, we are constantly evaluating and developing our practices in the field of protection, all to ensure quality and avoid mistakes that could have fatal consequences for those in need of protection.

Security in an individually adapted daily life

We welcome both individual adults and families in our residential facilities.

Who are you and what does a residential support worker do in Team-OSS?

As a residential support worker, you are a secure and present adult in the daily lives of our clients. You provide support in everyday life and help create a stable and safe existence for people in vulnerable situations.

You will encounter a broad target group:

• Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)
• Honor-related violence and oppression (HRVO)
• Crime victims

The work includes, among other things:

• Creating security: participating in protection planning and creating a predictable and stable environment.
• Support in the parental role and care for children – a living child perspective.
• Arranging access to leisure activities and meaningful engagement.
• Collaboration with schools, healthcare, social services, and other societal actors.
• Documentation, record-keeping, and reporting according to current guidelines.
• Motivational interviewing and support in life changes.

The child's perspective is central to our work. You need to have the ability to see and meet children on their terms, understand how violence affects children's development, and contribute to creating security, structure, and meaning in their daily lives. This may also involve accompanying children to school or healthcare appointments, as well as supporting parents in their role under protection.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are responsible, self-assured, and have a big heart for people in crisis. You need to be flexible, team-oriented, and have a professional approach in both stressful and emotionally demanding situations.

You have good knowledge of the mechanisms of violence and are comfortable working according to established plans, sometimes at a high pace. It is important that you can work both independently and in a team, and that you are meticulous with documentation and communication.

Requirements and Merits

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in social work (social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, support pedagogue, or equivalent).
• Valid driver's license (Category B).
• Experience working with victims of violence and/or socially vulnerable groups.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

Merits:

• Experience working in protected housing.
• Experience working with children and families in vulnerable situations.
• Knowledge of IPV, HRVO, defectors, and crime victim issues.
• Experience with documentation in operational systems.
• Knowledge of counseling methods, such as MI, BRA-talks, or low-arousal approach.
