Karlskoga's adapted primary school is part of the school administration and is located at three different units:
- Bråtenskolan - focus on subject areas grades 1-9
- Sandviksskolan - focus on subjects grades 1-6
- Österledsskolan - focus on subjects grades 7-9
In total, we have approximately 65 students in our operations. In our work teams, teachers and support staff collaborate closely based on the students' conditions and needs.

Job Responsibilities
As a school counselor, you are part of the adapted school's student health team. Together with other professionals, you are responsible for the health-promoting, preventive, and remedial work for our students.
You work primarily preventively and health-promoting, contributing psychosocial and social competence in close collaboration with the student health professionals and other school staff. The assignment includes identifying and analyzing opportunities and promoting factors in the school's learning environment, as well as reducing barriers to learning and personal development at the organizational, group, and individual levels.
In the role, you will:
- hold conversations with students individually and in groups
- attend parent meetings and network meetings
- supervise and consult school staff
- contribute your profession to the student health team
- be responsible for student records and conduct school form investigations based on your profession
- participate in the development and implementation of action plans, for example within bullying, active measures against discrimination, crisis management, value-based work, and conflict management
- work proactively and contribute knowledge about society's resources and support systems
- collaborate with external actors such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP), habilitation, association and field activities, and police
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a degree in social work (sociologist).
As a person, you have an easy time creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You value and contribute to good collaboration through an open, accommodating, and solution-oriented approach.
You are structured and have good ability to plan and organize your work based on the operation's annual calendar and needs. Your analytical ability allows you to interpret and analyze results from, for example, student surveys, safety walks, and bullying investigations, and translate these into relevant and accurate measures.
You have good digital competence and are confident in working with documentation and collaboration in various digital systems. You document in a structured and correct manner and have very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, and can adapt your language to the recipient and situation.
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience working in an adapted school
- experience working with students with intellectual disabilities
Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: 6 months or longer.

To work in preschool, school, and youth and leisure activities, you must, according to the Register Control Act, provide a certificate of conduct from the police. You must request the extract yourself from the Swedish Police Authority using the form "Extract from the criminal record" in the form archive from the police website.
