Do you want to work as a school counselor in a student-centered role where you contribute to safety, participation, and good conditions for learning? Here, you will become an important part of the student health team and the school's safety team, with a focus on strengthening student well-being.
About the position
As a school counselor, you are part of the school's student health team, focusing on health promotion and preventive work. You collaborate closely with other professions within student health and coordinate social interventions for students based on their needs. You work directly with students and are an active part of the school's safety team, where you collectively strive for a safe, accessible, and inclusive school environment for all students. The role includes supervising teachers on psychosocial matters and working with students, including through investigative and supportive conversations.
Examples of duties:
- Conduct support, motivation, crisis, and conflict conversations, as well as investigative, advisory, and processing conversations with individual students and their families.
- Initiate and participate in networking work regarding students.
- Map and assess the social situation outside of school for individual students.
- Work with groups in cases of acute needs and for preventive purposes.
- Work based on proven knowledge theory and evidence-based methods, contributing to the creation, implementation, and revision of action plans.
- Provide professional supervision and consultation to school staff.
- Contribute a social and psychosocial perspective to the development of pedagogical activities.
About the workplace
Brickebackens Adapted Primary School currently has approximately 60 students and an equal number of staff in various professions. The overarching goal of the activity is to support the student's all-round development as a good foundation for a meaningful adult life. We have students studying subjects and subject areas from grade 1 to 9.

Qualifications
You take responsibility for your assignment and work independently with good structure. You have a professional and flexible approach and the ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are attentive and empathetic, with a focus on the student's best interests, and have the ability to adapt your work based on changing needs. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good digital competence.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Social Work degree (210 credits).
- Experience working as a school counselor.
Merits:
- Experience working within the school system.
- Experience supervising teachers.
- Knowledge or experience of ICDP (Guiding Conversations).
