In the beautiful nature of Karlskoga, exciting things are happening right now. In our city, you are always close to both beautiful nature and high-tech industry. We offer you a welcoming workplace where people and innovations can grow. Welcome to meaningful work where you can truly make a difference!
The Social Services Department works to ensure that all citizens can receive the support they may need in different situations. This is done within the framework of the social services' mandate, various legislations, and based on the department's values.
Within the department, there is the Competence Supply Unit (KFE) – a central part of individual and family care focused on supporting individuals towards self-sufficiency, sustainable progression, and increased participation in societal life. Here, authority enforcement, coaching support, labor market initiatives, and collaboration with internal and external actors meet in cohesive processes.
The Competence Supply Unit is divided into six groups: the case management group, the coaching group, and the group for placement in and support to social entrepreneurship (GPS). The unit also includes administration, support for persons with harmful use and addiction through an adult team and the outpatient clinic Tellus, as well as the Bosam group, which can provide support and guidance for interventions related to housing. The Competence Supply Unit has three responsible unit managers who lead the team; one of them will be your direct supervisor.
Karlskoga Municipality works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's skills and thereby combating discrimination.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The work within the Competence Supply Unit involves, among other things, guiding users towards self-sufficiency through social change work and a coaching approach where the individual's own resources are at the center and utilized in the best possible way.
We are looking for someone who is curious, engaged, positive, and understands the mission. You will work in the coaching group, following people's path towards self-sufficiency and a good life from a BIP-inspired approach. This means combining job-focused, competence-enhancing, and health-related interventions, as well as having faith in the individual's ability to succeed. It is therefore important to establish good contacts within and outside the coaching group, and you need to be flexible and able to work independently. Documentation, legal certainty, and good treatment are also important parts of our work.
With the introduction of the new activity requirement for recipients of social assistance, Karlskoga Municipality is ramping up work to offer meaningful employment and pathways to self-sufficiency. As a rehab coach with us, you will have a key role in supporting individuals with complex barriers, often in the form of mental illness or various diagnoses, to approach self-sufficiency based on their own abilities.
Since the role is entirely new, you are expected to be proactive in building structures and working methods. You will work closely with our existing team of coaches and case managers, but also serve as our bridge to important collaboration partners, such as the Region (healthcare), the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and the Public Employment Service.
As a new employee in the coaching group, you will receive an introduction and access to a mentor.
We offer flexible working hours and a wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in meeting people on the margins of society and who possesses:
- A degree in social work or another education or work experience that the employer considers equivalent.
- Good knowledge of societal functions and systems: You understand how economic assistance interacts with the Social Services Act and labor market policy regulations.
- Experience with the target group: You are accustomed to meeting applicants for economic assistance and have a good understanding of the challenges associated with long-term benefit dependency.
- Pedagogical and coaching ability: You are skilled at holding motivational conversations and can adapt your communication to the individual's conditions.
It is an advantage if you are accustomed to documenting interventions, progression, and results with a basic understanding of confidentiality and GDPR, and if you have experience collaborating with authorities and other actors. Good local knowledge and a broad network within Karlskoga's business community are also advantageous.
Personal suitability is given great weight.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: 6 months or longer.

Probationary employment may occur.
