The Social Services Department in Askersund Municipality is responsible for elderly care, LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and care operations, social psychiatry, operations for unaccompanied refugee children, as well as individual and family care.

Do you want to work as a support pedagogue with an independent assignment where you drive development, mentor colleagues, and strengthen the quality of operations – while also having a predictable working time with a regular week?

As a support pedagogue within Functional Support, you have an operation-wide role directed towards three unit managers and their operations. The position is full-time (40 hours/week) and working hours are during daytime, Monday–Friday (regular week).

In the role, you combine user-near work with a clear assignment to strengthen the quality of pedagogical work through mentoring, education, and competence development across the entire area.

The role places high demands on independence, initiative, and the ability to lead others in daily work.

You work independently within your area of responsibility and are expected to take significant personal responsibility for planning, prioritizing, and driving the work forward. You identify development needs and translate these into concrete measures together with the operations.

Job Responsibilities

Main Assignment

  • Be a pedagogical support to the operations of three unit managers
  • Mentor and develop employees in pedagogical working methods and approaches
  • Plan, implement, and follow up on educational initiatives and contribute to competence development across the entire Functional Support area
  • Work independently to plan, implement, and follow up on pedagogical development work
  • Contribute to the operation working in a structured, knowledge-based manner and in accordance with current legislation

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Work user-near based on individual needs with a focus on participation, independence, and a meaningful life
  • Mentor support assistants and work groups in daily work and in pedagogical approaches
  • Plan, implement, and follow up on training and competence-enhancing measures
  • Be a support in the implementation of evidence-based methods and approaches
  • Actively contribute to systematic quality work together with unit managers
  • Provide support in documentation, implementation plans, and structure in work

Introduce New Employees and Mentor Students

  • Collaborate with relatives and external actors such as healthcare and other collaboration partners
  • Be a support in the application of current legislation, such as LSS

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Relevant post-secondary education, for example, a university college education as a support pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, social pedagogue, or activation pedagogue. Alternatively, at least 60 higher education credits in relevant areas such as pedagogy, disability, psychology, behavioral science, or social work, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • At least two years of experience working in the functional support area.
  • Very good ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive work forward.
  • Experience mentoring colleagues, leading groups, or conducting educational initiatives.
  • A genuine interest in working with people in need of support, as well as good ability to plan, structure, and collaborate.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Good digital competence and experience in independently using and developing work in operation systems.
  • Experience working with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).
  • Experience with clarifying pedagogy and cognitive support.
  • Category B driver's license.

Meritorious

  • Knowledge of and experience working according to LSS legislation.
  • Experience with rehabilitative and habilitative working methods.
  • Experience with documentation in Lifecare or equivalent operation systems.
  • Experience with development or change work in operations.

Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.

Salary: Monthly salary.
