No matter where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing change.

SiS Youth Home Råby receives both girls and boys. We have both closed and open places for closed youth care as well as treatment places for young people placed under the Act on Special Provisions on Care of Young Persons (LVU).

Job Description

Do you care about young people and want to work at a school with a good atmosphere, high quality, and joy of work? Now is your chance to influence students' future and education in a creative and enabling school environment. We are now looking for a Study and Career Counselor for SiS Youth Home Råby in Lund.

The students placed at the units are not subject to compulsory schooling. They study within the framework of the introduction program; individual alternative, but there may also be students subject to compulsory schooling as well as students within the framework of adapted school. Many of the students have had difficulties in schoolwork and have a great need to compensate for a lack of schooling. All students have an individual study plan where, together with a mentor and a study and career counselor, goals are set and compulsory school and/or upper secondary school subjects are read based on their needs. The teaching is conducted full-time in smaller teaching groups.

As a study and career counselor, your main task is to guide students towards further studies, internships, or alternative paths into working life. Some administrative tasks related to the students' continuous schooling may also occur. The work also involves supervising and leading teacher groups in matters concerning education, working life, and society within the framework of general study and career guidance.

The SYV position involves collaboration both within SiS and with other professions around the students within social services and education administration, where the students' right to education is central. As a study and career counselor, you contribute to enabling continuity in the students' schooling both when they are placed, during their stay, and when they move out of SiS. At the youth home, there are several complementary competencies, and as a study and career counselor, you are part of a cross-professional and joint work around the young people. Collaboration with, for example, nurses, treatment pedagogues, and psychologists, etc., is therefore an important part of your tasks. To thrive in the role, it is important that you are flexible and have good communication skills.

It is important that you can identify and meet the students with high realistic expectations and support the student in finding their goal and showing their possible paths that lead there. You are flexible, receptive, and understand that there may be obstacles while having the ability to see new opportunities for the student. You have faith that all students can find a path to education and work.
