Organization Description
Diversity, efficiency, innovation, and attractiveness!
The municipality's core values, MENA (Mångfald, Effektivitet, Nyskapande, Attraktivitet - Diversity, Efficiency, Innovation, Attractiveness), are a natural part of your leadership approach.
We are looking for a positive, structured, and self-motivated person who has the ability to collaborate and appreciates working in a team. We place great emphasis on leadership qualities and that you are the right person for the team you will join. Traits we value include being receptive and having the ability to build trust and a collaborative climate.
We are expanding with Deputy Strength Leaders in our 4 shift teams. At Gällivare Rescue Services, you work as a key player in a small organization. We cover a large geographical area, ranging from mines and mountains to vast mountain forests. The majority of the municipality's residents live in Gällivare town, where our full-time station is also located. In our villages, we have five rescue stations that help us by being first on the scene and providing initial assistance.
We handle approximately 300 alarms per year.
We collaborate with our neighboring municipalities and industrial fire brigades in the area.
Working in Gällivale Municipality is characterized by joy in work, engagement, and respect for the equal value of all people. At Gällivare Rescue Services, it is obvious that everyone should feel accepted and enjoy their work, regardless of origin or gender.
Gällivare Rescue Services strives to be an attractive workplace where employees are given opportunities for personal development.

Strength Leader Gällivare Municipality
As a Deputy Strength Leader, you are the supervisor for the staff in both daily operations and operational tasks. You work closely with the regular Strength Leader on the shift team. Together, you plan and are responsible for the daily work at the station, as well as other preventive and operational tasks.
Being a Strength Leader involves leading and planning your own and the group's work based on the overall mission of the rescue services, which means you and your staff will work with both accident prevention and damage mitigation tasks.
You are independently responsible for your own cases/tasks, but the work also requires close collaboration with colleagues and other authorities around you.
The Rescue Services in Gällivare Municipality are under development, so you will naturally be part of the work to improve and develop processes, routines, and methods in the operations. You are expected to have the ambition and desire to develop the operations in accordance with the municipality's operational goals together with the unit manager.
In the role of Strength Leader, you also have contact with Gällivare's residents, businesses, other authorities, and similar entities.
We are looking for a positive, structured, and self-motivated person who has the ability to collaborate and appreciates working in a team. We place great emphasis on leadership qualities and that you are the right person for the team you will join. Traits we value include being receptive and having the ability to build trust and a collaborative climate.
You should have a few years of experience working within the rescue services.
We expect that you have good insight into the Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Act and other laws and regulations that govern and influence the work of the rescue services.
We assume that you are proficient in common computer programs and can express yourself well in speech and writing, for example, to train your own staff and citizens. You are independent, responsible, and can communicate in both speech and writing in a trustworthy manner.
You should have the desire to help develop the organization forward.
Since the rescue services are undergoing intensive change work and there are significant challenges in the work, we place great emphasis on you being flexible and open to change. We also view it positively if you have experience working in a politically governed organization.
To thrive in the role of Strength Leader, you need the ability to make well-founded decisions independently based on the organization's values and goals. It is important that you have a broad perspective and can see the whole picture in your way of working.
As a Deputy Strength Leader, you must also be able to function as a firefighter and in the role of smoke diving leader.
